Yes, my friends, it happened. My daughter somehow convinced me to go with her to a kickboxing class. The conversation went something like this:

Citykitty, hello! Trust me it is not something I plan to do everyday, that is for sure! Sometimes I like to mix it up a bit or I get a little bored. Let me know how you like that bike when you get it. Oh milkshakes..... I remember milkshakes.
OMG you made me laugh! You are a heck of a lot braver then I am. I have wanted to do that but I am not brave enough to drag my fat ass into one of those classes just for the reasons you mentioned. Good for you tho! You should be proud and you should never trust your daughter again!...LOL. Are you going to go again?
LOL-- as a rotund mom of a skinny chick-- I can sooo see her doing this to me.
Karrie, I was so ready to run out the door when I first saw all the spandex! But I hung in there and actually kinda enjoyed myself. I have never seen people so happy to exercise in all my life! I do plan to try it again and also saw a latin "dance" exercise class that I might try too (wish me luck!)
Lily, I guess you can feel my pain! She's a sneaky little squirrel. During the class she was in front of me and even though she can kick higher, she also took more breaks! She is sore too. That makes me happy :)
lol! sis you rock!

Good for you! You go for it! Let us know how it is since I will never be able to tell you..LOL
Funny! And congrats on sticking with it. I didn't make it through my first kickboxing class!
Karrie, I hope I can make it through the next class! Who knows, you may be kicking it with a cult one day too!
Fluffnflowers, Trust me, I almost didn't make it through either! I think I was unconscious some of the time ;)
Great job for trying the class. I lost the most weight when I went to kickboxing classes after college! I'm sure I would be in a lot of pain if started going again!
Almay Alday, I know exactly what you are talking about! Evidently pain is your friend in kickboxing class!
Serves 4. Hands-on time: 10 minutes. Total time: 1 hour, 20 minutes (which includes 1 hour marinating)
Ingredients: -1/3 cup balsamic vinegar -1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil -3 tbsp honey -1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped -4 (5 oz) lean boneless pork chops, trimmed of visible fat -Olive oil cooking spray (optional) [I used 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil] -Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste -4 peaches, halved and pitted [I quartered them] -Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Instructions: ONE: In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, oil, honey and rosemary. Reserve 2 tbsp and add the rest to a 1-gallon zip-top bag. Add pork to bag and refrigerate for 1 hour, turning occasionally. TWO: Preheat broiler to high or coat a grill pan with cooking spray and heat to medium-high over stove. Remove pork from fridge, discard marinating liquid and season pork with salt and pepper. Broil pork or cook in grill pan until pork is opaque throughout and feels firm to the touch, or until internal temperature reaches 160° F on an instant-read thermometer, about 5 to 6 minutes per side.
THREE: meanwhile, cook peaches under broiler or in a grill pan over medium heat until tender and juicy, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate, season with pepper and brush with reserved 2 tbsp marinade [I reserved a little extra to go on the pork chop too]. To serve, place a pork chop on each of 4 plates and top with 2 peach halves. Garnish with thyme leaves.
