Thanks stitch witch! I hate not losing, but your right. At least I didn't comfort myself with food! I am off all this week and plan to use the extra time to try and kick start my weight loss again. Thanks for commenting!
Your too funny! I have to agree with stitch witch..you didn't turn to food. I would have. That is a huge step! You should be proud of that. Keep going and don't give up. I am pulling for you :) If it makes you feel any better..I have put on a few lbs...I'm quitting smoking....ugh!!! That 35 lbs I took off..I see it coming back, very soon. Crap!!
Hey Karrie! Thanks for the encouragement, I'm determined not to give up! I want to enjoy clothes shopping again and buy at least 7 pairs of fabulous skinny jeans (one for every day)! I think the trick is to catch the gains before they spiral out of control. It is great that you managed to get 35 pounds off (I seem stuck at 13) :) Don't let them creep back on, they are too hard to lose! Oh, and congrats on quitting smoking, I bet that is as hard as or even harder than losing weight!
I LOVE that new bag! You should do a giveaway and pick me! LOL!
Ha Ha Hana! That would be one way to get people to check out my blog :)
Hey I found your blog through the Etsy forums, I really like your posts:) I am a classic high top chuck fan, but those lows are soooo cute! nice find;)
Jenny
Hi Jenny! I'm glad you found my blog (thanks for following). Aren't those low tops the jam!
You know what is even more therapeutic? Taking your sister shopping! Yeah, I think that would be a wonderful idea! Big sis needs a new pair of shoes! (and a new purse wouldn't hurt either).
n
ps. I will blog longer on Wed, I promise!
love the catchy little tune - don't get discourage and don't go broke before you reach your goal that's when the reall shopping starts! LOL
Uh... Big sis has more shoes and purses than anyone I know (not to mention clothes, jewelry, home decor....)
Myminimocs, isn't that song catchy? I am trying hard to have a loss this week so I don't get discouraged! Feb has not been my month. You are so right though, nothing is better than shopping when you reach your goal weight! :)
who plateaus after only losing 13 pounds
Ugh. All of us. But hang in there. Before you know it, you'll get your butt down to the size of Colorado. Then Indiana. The Rhode Island. Hang in there!
big nsv on skipping the comfort food...I tooooo often hit the shopping instead :) but am trying to find the pleasure in the lookingNOTbuying.
trying :)
Charlie Hills, Ha ha! That made me laugh, good one.
MizFit, yeah I'm glad I skipped the comfort food. I don't really shop a lot and never spend if I don't have it to spend. It was fun but was not as great as losing weight (and it definitely does not taste as good as a molten cake from Chilis)!
Thank you both for taking the time to comment!
Hey.....sling on that new bag, new shoes, and take your shirtless, tatoo-sporting husband for a stroll. After the girls and the po-po run you down, you might lose a few more pounds! Hang in there!
Hey citykitty! Are you enjoying our break as much as I am?! Yep, I may be chubby but I am still stylin. I am also exercising like there is no tomorrow so I better see some results on Saturday. Hows that exercise bike treating you? Good I hope!

Stuff to Know
- The Reduction Principle: The Reduction Principle is based on the "if they can do it, I should be able to do it too" theory (this applies to all those weight loss stories in magazines, people on the Biggest Loser show & people you have not seen in a while who are suddenly skinny). Combine it with the "I think I can" theory (yes, kids book featuring a train with a face), add a dose of "get the heck fire out of my way" and you have the gist of it.

Chubby Sister's Balsamic-Marinated Pork Chops & Grilled Peaches
Serves 4. Hands-on time: 10 minutes. Total time: 1 hour, 20 minutes (which includes 1 hour marinating)
Ingredients: -1/3 cup balsamic vinegar -1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil -3 tbsp honey -1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped -4 (5 oz) lean boneless pork chops, trimmed of visible fat -Olive oil cooking spray (optional) [I used 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil] -Sea salt and fresh ground black pepper, to taste -4 peaches, halved and pitted [I quartered them] -Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Instructions: ONE: In a small bowl, whisk together vinegar, oil, honey and rosemary. Reserve 2 tbsp and add the rest to a 1-gallon zip-top bag. Add pork to bag and refrigerate for 1 hour, turning occasionally. TWO: Preheat broiler to high or coat a grill pan with cooking spray and heat to medium-high over stove. Remove pork from fridge, discard marinating liquid and season pork with salt and pepper. Broil pork or cook in grill pan until pork is opaque throughout and feels firm to the touch, or until internal temperature reaches 160° F on an instant-read thermometer, about 5 to 6 minutes per side.
THREE: meanwhile, cook peaches under broiler or in a grill pan over medium heat until tender and juicy, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate, season with pepper and brush with reserved 2 tbsp marinade [I reserved a little extra to go on the pork chop too]. To serve, place a pork chop on each of 4 plates and top with 2 peach halves. Garnish with thyme leaves.
